ADVICE: Tips from the June HOME magazine team

It's gotto be the highlight of my month - indulging in the new HOME magazine and in this months email newsletter they had the following tips to share:

• Do it yourself.


• Paint. And paint again (a wall or a furniture piece); wallpaper a wall or two, reupholster and reuse items in a new way.


• Gather ideas from other homes and gardens - it's the best inspiration for your own home.


• Mix decor styles, and marry old with new - it's hip and personal.


• Trust your instincts or sixth sense.


• Don't shy from making mistakes - sometimes they can offer the greatest inspiration.


• Cook with food from your own garden.


• You don't need a lot of money to beautify your home (we get a kick out of creating something stunning on a tight budget).


• Never stop experimenting.
