My husband makes the best Spaghetti Bolognaise. Yes, I am biased and I do go overboard every time he makes it to pump his ego a bit and encourage him to make it again. Here is the very boy friendly recipe:
500g mince
1 small onion
dash of olive oil
1 tin of peeled, chopped tomatoes
1 sachet of tomato pesto (I, sorry, he uses Ina Paarman)
beef stock (again, I use Ina Paarman)
spaghetti
Chop onion and fry in olive oil until soft. Add mince and brown. Add one cup of stock (not all powder guys, put 3 teaspoons of stock powder with boiling water and stir), tin of tomatoes (without tin) and tomato pesto (found in the tomato pesto sachet) and stir. Leave to simmer and cook spaghetti in boiling water with a teaspoon of olive oil and a pinch or two of salt. Drain pasta once cooked and serve bolognaise on spaghetti. Grate some cheese if desired. Try it! It's really good and so easy - just don't tell Shaun!
